FELIX MAYERHOFER, born in Port Chester, NY, had three careers: A professional trombonist for 14 years, school band director for 27 years, and since retirement, a children’s author. He also served in the 552nd Air Force Band during the Korean War. Felix, author of the published books, “Horace the Great,” “Wobbly Bags a Thief,” “The Three Little Godfathers,” and “Guitar Cowboy,” received his BS degree from the State University of New York, Potsdam, and an MA degree from Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, California. He and his late wife Shirley, a former professional dancer, have a son, David, a professional photographer.
