Inspiration
When I attended a children’s author’s critique meeting, a guest speaker gave each of us five minutes to write down a creative story line. I don’t know why, but I remembered that as a child, my father and I “cawed” at each other using a poor imitation of a crow’s call when we hiked through meadows and woods outside of Port Chester, New York. If we were a distance from each other, we’d use that call so we wouldn’t get separated. From that colorful memory came the idea for CAW ‘S FIRST HOLIDAY.
